Yes folks, Nicole Richie has given birth to a baby girl on Friday 11 January 2008 (as reported at People magazine HERE).
The child has been named Harlow Winter Kate Madden. The name already giving rise to jokes of granddad Lionel Richie singing "Harlow, is it me you're loooking for" to the little sprog.
And no doubt Lionel will be passing on parental tips to his daughter, such as: Do you realise you'll be up "all night long ... all night, oh, all night long".
When Nicole said she was pregnant in July, she reportedly told Diane Sawyer on 'Good Morning America'
"I would really want to be someone my child would look up to".
Well that shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as all historical records of Nicole Richie start from the moment she said that sentence.
Joel Madden, father of the child and frontman for the band Good Charlotte reportedly said
"Having a baby is the most exciting thing that's ever happened to me, and to us".
And now that the couple are new parents they of course feel the need to evolve into Mother Teresa and Bob Geldof.
In December they started the "Richie Madden Children's Foundation" to help the less fortunate.
They are quoted as saying
"We want our child to be a part of the community, and to know that there's a responsibility to help the community".
Yeah, the child will grow up to be "part of the community", you know, just like her parents, one of the people. Actually, now that I come to think of it, I think I queued up behind them in Tesco's the other day.
